Geothermal Indianapolis Energy Efficiency Standards – What’s it Worth?
Geothermal energy is setting new standards in the realm of energy efficiency for heating and cooling systems. The energy efficiency of an Indianapolis geothermal system depends upon multiple factors, but generally speaking, they are 30-50% more efficient than traditional air conditioning systems and heat pumps, and 3-5 times more efficient than gas, propane, and oil furnaces. Conventional high energy efficiency heating and cooling systems are generally rated in the range of 92-94 percent efficiency, which means that for every unit of energy the homeowner pays for to operate the system, he or she gets 0.92-0.94 units of energy worth of heating or cooling in return.
